Sipp was unarmed when he was fatally shot by Jason C. Giroir in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 1, 2012. Giroir has since turned in his resignation after he along with his wife Michelle Reyes Giroir, both of Covington, Louisiana were reported for making racist threats on their Facebook account(s) about the murder of Trayvon Martin.
